Author Kathy Hirsh-Pasek to Speak on Psychology and Common Good

Dr. Kathy Hirsh-Pasek, the Stanley and Debra Lefkowitz Professor in the Department of Psychology at Temple University, will speak at Ursinus College on Jan. 31. The free public talk will be in the Lenfest Auditorium Theater in the Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m.

Dr. Kathy Hirsh-Pasek

Dr. Hirsh-Pasek is also the Director of the Infant Language Laboratory. The title of her talk is “From the Lab to the Living Room and Beyond: Where Psychological Science Meets the Common Good.” She has written 11 books, including Einstein Never Used Flash Cards, How Babies Talk, The Origins of Grammar, and Becoming a Word Learner. Her work has also appeared in more than 100 publications.

The talk is a program of The Center for Science and the Common Good at Ursinus College, which provides opportunities for all Ursinus students to consider the impact of science on the common good and to learn to better communicate scientific research to the public. It is funded by a grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
